MediaWiki is a free Wiki software package licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). It is used to run Wikipedia and other projects of the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, as well as many other wikis.

Anforderungen:

To install MediaWiki, you will need any operating system (GNU/Linux is suggested), any web server (apache2 is suggested), PHP ? 4.3 (PHP 4.3.11 is suggested) and MySQL ? 3.23 (MySQL 4.0.23 is suggested). You do not need a specific software to manage MySQL but such tool may help you for backups and other tasks (phpMyAdmin ? 2.6.1 is suggested).

Installation:

Nach dem Download der aktuellen Version entpackt man das Archiv auf dem lokalen Rechner und ladet es per FTP auf dem Webserver hoch.

Damit PHP 5 per CGI funktioniert mussten alle php-Dateien auf CHMOD 755 gesetzt werden.
Danach wird die Seite im Browser aufgerufen und den Anweisungen gefolgt,
sowie alle Angaben für die Umgebung und den Datenbankserver eingegeben.
